Some Jedi are remembered for legends. Others are remembered because they were still standing when the legend was over.
Inspired by Jedi Master Orgus Din from Star Wars: The Old Republic, the Old Guard GM brings one of the Old Republic era’s most distinctive saber designs to our Grand Master collection.
Its design is unmistakably different from the polished, utilitarian hilts of later generations. A warm woodgrain-effect body is surrounded by brushed metal hardware, richly detailed gold filigree and an elaborate engraved shroud that wraps around the upper hilt like ceremonial armor. Blue and amber illuminated controls punctuate the otherwise antique palette, giving the saber an unusual combination of ancient craftsmanship and advanced technology.
The closer you look, the better it gets.
Machined grooves and layered rings break up the narrow neck. Ornamental metalwork continues around multiple sides of the grip rather than existing simply as a decorative front panel. Long windows reveal mechanical details beneath the exterior, while the large sculpted shroud gives the emitter a silhouette unlike almost anything from the later Jedi Order.
This ELF Sabers built version uses a CNC-machined aluminum body with a hydro-dipped woodgrain effect. At the same time, the ornate detailing across the grip and upper shroud is machined into the metalwork. The blade retention screws are hidden under the removable top emitter.
Fun Fact: Orgus Din was a decorated Jedi Master, war hero, and member of the Jedi High Council, yet his straightforward personality earned him the nickname “Plain Jedi”—an amusing contrast to his remarkably ornate saber. He survived the Sacking of Coruscant, carried a years-long rivalry with Darth Angral, and later became the master of the Jedi who would be known as the Hero of Tython. Even after his death, Orgus continued guiding his former apprentice as a Force spirit, making his influence on the Jedi Order extend far beyond his lifetime.
It’s elaborate. It’s old-fashioned. It’s a little eccentric. Which, as it turns out, suits Master Din rather well.
Features:
Ornate Engraved Shroud - A large silver-toned upper shroud surrounds the emitter with deeply machined scrolling patterns inspired by Old Republic design. The shroud detailing is CNC-machined rather than printed onto the surface.
Hidden Blade Retention - Unscrew the top emitter when you want to install the blade.
Woodgrain-Effect Body - Warm reddish-brown wood styling gives the hilt a dramatically different character from traditional all-metal Jedi designs. ELF produces the wood effect through hydro dipping.
Gold Filigree Detailing - Ornate gold scrollwork follows the length of the main grip, creating an almost ceremonial appearance against the darker woodgrain finish.
Layered Old Republic Neck - Multiple machined silver and brass-toned rings create a complex transitional neck between the grip and emitter.
Illuminated Dual Controls - Contrasting blue and amber/red illuminated controls bring a subtle modern glow to the otherwise antique aesthetic.
Exposed Mechanical Window - A long recessed opening through the grip reveals mechanical detailing underneath the decorative exterior.
Multi-Sided Detailing - The decorative work continues around the hilt rather than being confined to a single presentation side — especially noticeable in the engraved shroud and metallic accent pieces.
